2 oz. Light Rum
.75 oz. Lime Juice
.75 oz. Simple Syrup
Shake with ice and strain into a chilled coupe. Garnish with a lime wheel.
95 points, Chairman’s Trophy in Daiquiri
“This Rum works brilliantly in the classic Daiquiri as it possesses the weight and depth to shine in the drink while seamlessly marrying the semi-tart lime notes. Perfect balance and complexity are found in the Banks 5 Daiquiri.”-Paul Pacult, UBC Chairman
2 oz. Rum
.5 oz. Orange Curaçao
1 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
.5 oz. Orgeat Syrup
Shake well with ice and strain into a double old-fashioned glass filled with ice. No garnish.
92 points, Chairman’s Trophy in Mai Tai
“A classic Mai Tai is always welcomed but it demands a Rum with substance. If the Rum is timid the supporting cast takes over the balance is gone. The Banks 5 offers weigh, depth, and complexity to spare creating a Mai Tai worthy of your best Tiki glass.”-Paul Pacult, UBC Chairman
2 oz. Light Rum
.75 oz. Simple Syrup
1 oz. Club Soda
.75 oz. Lime Juice
8 Mint Leaves (plus 1 mint sprig for garnish)
Add the simple syrup and mint leaves to a mixing glass and muddle. Add everything else, then shake and fine-strain into a chilled Collins glass filled with ice. Top with 1 oz. club soda and garnish with the mint sprig.
