But once you've mastered the twin tequila icons, it's time to break out the other mixers. The deep, warming flavors of good tequila (the additional ingredients don't excuse bottom-shelf booze) work wonders in tropical fruit-laced punches, mojitos, and even as a twist on the Bloody Mary.
Recipe from Good Spirits, by A.J. Rathbun
1 oz Silver tequila
1 oz Yellow Chartreuse
4 oz Fresh orange juice
Orange slices (garnish)
Fill a highball glass with ice. Pour tequila, Chartreuse, and OJ over ice in that order.
Tropical Tequila Punch
1/4 cup Pineapple juice
1/4 cup Tequila
1 1/2 T Passion fruit juice
1 t Fresh lime juice
In a cocktail shaker half-filled with ice, combine the fruit juices and tequila. Strain into a highball glass filled with cracked ice.
Tequila Mojito
1/4 cup Blanco or silver tequila
4 t Simple syrup
1/4 cup Soda
4 t Lime juice
8 Spearmint leaves
Muddle mint leaves in the lime juice and simple syrup in the bottom of a highball glass. Fill the glass with crushed ice, add tequila and soda. Stir.

Comments
Tequila Mojito:
a) use fresh lime juice (4-5 limes)
b) dip empty glass in juice and thereafter in a plate filled with salt (rim of glass is salty)
c) pour 4-6 cl of brown and matured tequila (such as añejo: Cuervo or even better: Tres Generationes) into glass
d) add cane (brown) sugar (2 tsp.) and mix with tequila (stir with a spoon)
e) add lime juice
f) crush ice and add to ingrediants in glass
g stir, drink asnd enjoy!

Can anyone tell me which type of Prosecco to use for the 1800 Tequila Sangria? I am not familiar with Proseccos and when at the store today saw dry, extra dry, brute, and pink. Thanks!
