Celebrate with Single Malt Scotch

Dedicated

Momentous moments in one’s life call for celebration, and what better way to mark these moments than by sharing a memorable glass of single malt scotch whisky. The complexity and depth of single malt whisky comes from the years of careful maturation that make each bottle an anniversary celebration!

Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary or engagement, graduation or wedding, share your happiness with stupendous single malts. Some of life's indelible memories come from experiences shared with friends and a single malt toast.

Aged Single Malts

You might be familiar with age dated single malts. That 12-year-old, for example, is the perfect way to celebrate with the friends who made the year 2000 so memorable! Ever wonder why so many producers release 21-year-old single malts? Maybe because they are the perfect way to welcome someone into the club of single malt aficionados, not to mention an awesome gift for celebrating this important birthday!

Much of the flavor in a fine single malt comes from the years in barrel. The older the scotch, the more mellow, complex and subtle the renage of flavors becomes. Many people feel that single malt whiskies hit their stride at about 12 years of age and peak right around their 21st birthday, the real reason you see so many 21-year-old single malts.

Vintage Single Malts

Vintage dated single malt scotch whiskies are rare, but are becoming more common. These are great gifts for anniversaries, birthdays and celebrations that recall the events of a specific year. Unlike a bottle of wine, a bottle of single malt scotch whisky can be shared to celebrate a joyous occassion for many happy years.

Many vintage dated single malts are bottled at cask strength, as opposed to the more common 80 proof. Cask strength simply means the scotch has been bottled with out additions of water. Water is added to help adjust for differeing levels of alcohol, which can be quite high after years in a barrel.

Why Age Matters

Age matters for all of us. As since as we age, we learn to apprecaite the finer things in life. A fine single malt is one of those very things. Complex and gentle, it requires patience to be understood and a repetoire of experiences to be enjoyed. It's one of the few things that gets better with age, our age.

Age also matters when it comes to the scotch whisky itself. Of course, all single malts are aged, but few distillers are as scrupulous about ageing their whiskies as The Glenlivet. While the minimum aging requirements for scotch is three years, all of the whiskies used by The Glenlivet are at least 12 years old, and many are much older. That's why The Glenlivet stands apart with subtlty and depth that few distillers can match.

Choose The Glenlivet to celebrate life's finer moments.
