Ultimate Beverage Challenge
Interesting, as someone who enjoys great sipping rums, that a rum I had never heard of was named the Ultimate Spirits Challenge rum. But when you look at the "48 rums judged," you quickly notice the absence of such rums like Zacapa 23 & XO, Zaya 12 yr, any El Dorado rums, Ron Fundacion XX anos, etc. etc. Also, all these rums were mixed into classic cocktails, not simply enjoyed as is. Probably will try and taste the PX 5+5, but I'm not putting too much into this judging

What's PX mean? And, yeah, MANY good ones missing, chief among them Ron del Barrilito 3* from USofA (sort of..., PR). Mother's milk.

PX means Pedro Ximenez (a Sherry Grape) which is actually the 3rd barrel this rum is aged in prior to removing a 20 year old "PX" sherry that was once in that barrel (for 20 years). Yes, you should definitely try Dos Maderas PX, I know you will enjoy!

Sorry but no rum test is complete if products from Cuba are not included. Thus, from my perspective, the entire Challenge must be viewed as carrying a HUGE qualification.
