Description
The Rinsky, born only months ago on Manhattan's Lower East Side, has quickly gained notoriety as a working mans drink - a cocktail for any economy. It is traditionally made with Seagram's seven and Dr. Browns Cream soda.
Named for inventor and soon-to-be-successful author E.Z. Rinsky, the Rinsky is a glass of fresh air in the cliched and oft overlooked field of booze/soda drinks.
"It's like I'm drinking liquid gold." Praises alcohol enthusiast read more...Avi 'name witheld' Blumy, "except it's sort of brownish instead of gold, so...I dunno."
"It really spices up my life at home." Says Rinsky collaborator Jacob Hartz coyly, as he winks and takes a sip, "me and my wife have declared Tuesday - Friday evenings to be 'Rinsky Nights' - we just sit around and drink Rinskys until we find each other attractive."
As the Rinsky phenomenon sweeps across the block, variants of the classic mixed beverage have weaseled their way into the spotlight. Namely:
Skinny Rinsky: Seagrams and Diet Cream Soda
Dirty Rinsky: either Seagrams and Cherry soda, or a classic Rinsky stirred with one's member. The latter leading to the innovation of the pulse quickening parlor game: "Rinsky Roulette" in which six drinks are prepared for the players, with the catch that only one is "Dirty." On at least one occasion Rinsky himself has been rumored to have taken a page from the "Princess Bride" playbook and befouled all six drinks, later explaining that he himself remained unfazed by the prospect of imbibing trace amounts of his own bodily fluids. "It's the circle of life" he was heard to murmur, amongst groans of disbelief.
Rinsky Slurper: The standard Rinsky with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
"Make 'er Fleish" / The Disembowler: The standard Rinsky with a scoop of chopped liver added.
Rinsky Family Reunion - A standard Rinsky plus a shot of vodka and gin.
Please enjoy responsibly, and make sure you "Rinse it down with a Rinsky." this holiday season (hide)
