Thyme & Apple Martini
Thyme syrup: 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup water, 5 sprigs of thyme. Bring to a boil in a small pot...simmer for 5 minutes, let cool. Keeps for a week or so in the refridgerator. Martinie: add ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice...shake shake shake..pour into a cocktail glass, garnish with a slice of apple splashed with lemon juice (to avoid browning)
I have no idea where I got this, but it is a nice...perhaps somewhat sweet late fall aperatif....for more complex flavour make it with gin.
